People love nakedness. Not just being naked, but singing and dancing naked too! I don't mean strippers. I don't mean porn stars. Those fine folks get naked as part of their job. I mean people who don't make a living being naked. I'm talking famous people. Famous people who get naked because they want to, and they want us to see them naked. I can't think of anywhere else but music videos where that kind of behavior is acceptable...I mean, outside of porn and stripping. Sure, plenty of folks get naked or partially naked in the movies. But how do you know it's really them? Does it matter? Not for most people. Music videos, however, are the abused offspring of movies and plenty of artist have chosen to go sans garb to get more views or clicks. The latest video from Tate McRae, "It's Ok I'm Ok" is hot right now. Is Tate naked in the video? Mostly but not totally. Just very scantily clad.

Miley Cyrus, "Wrecking Ball" (2013)
This was actually a really pretty song, but it became beside the point when Ms. Montana released a video of herself straddling a wrecking ball, stark naked. She broke the internet with this one.
Britney Spears, "Womanizer" (2008)
BritBrit went full-on nude, all sweaty and self-tanned in a sauna in this video. To my mind though, she's always been at least a bit naked.
Katy Perry, "California Gurls" (2010)
Katy Perry is candy. Jaw-droppingly sugary, floating on a sugar-spun cloud. With lilac hair. Hard to unsee...and I am grateful for that.
Nine Inch Nails, "Closer" (1994)
A naked steam punk nightmare. Trent Reznor in some quite compromising S&M moments, and a nude, bald chick rocking a goat's head. This video proves that naked can be disturbingly non-sexy. For me anyway.
Blink-182, "What's My Age Again" (1998)
Legendary! The three band members totally naked, running through the streets of Los Angeles. It became so ubiquitous that the trio were soon thought of as the "nude" band -- even showing up to TRL sans clothes. Ah, those were the days. When MTV actually played videos.
