Lawton's annual community Spring event, Open Streets, will take place Saturday April 4th, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. all down C Avenue.

Open Streets is a free, family friendly event that shuts down C Avenue from 2nd to 5th streets, preventing vehicle traffic and providing a safe space for people to walk, play and connect with their community. There will be a host of local vendors, nonprofit organizations and other volunteer groups providing information for attendees to check out -- but there will also be games, activities, helpful demonstrations and, of course, food trucks galore.

This is the perfect chance to enjoy some Spring-time sunshine among one's own community! 

Lawton Public Schools will be hosting their annual Life Ready Conference and Career Fair on March 6, 2026 at the Albert Johnson Sr. Conference Center and Douglas Learning Center here in town. The event is expected to draw in up to 800 local juniors, bridging the gap between students and local employers to showcase the breadth of opportunity right here in our community. 

This Conference proves year after year that students need not always leave Southwest Oklahoma in order to build successful careers and meaningful lives, while providing local businesses the opportunity to connect and build relationships with both our community as well as the next generation of our workforce.
