Have you ever heard an uncommon word that catches your attention because it SOUNDS like something naughty . . . but it's actually totally innocent?

 

Reddit users are listing "words that sound erotic, but aren't."  And there are some amusing ones.  Here they are, along with their actual meanings . . .

 

 

1.  Dongle.   A device that can be plugged into a hardware port on a computer.

 

2.  Gesticulate.  To make or use gestures, especially in an animated manner.

 

3.  Uvula.  The little fleshy hanging ball in the back of your throat.

 

4.  Homo erectus.  The first human species to evolve a humanlike body and gait.

 

5.  Sextuplet.  A group or combination of six things.

 

6.  Succulent.  Full of juice, or juicy.  Also:  A type of plant.

 

7.  Mastication.  The act or process of chewing.

 

8.  Penal code.  A document that compiles all of a jurisdiction's criminal law.

 

9.  Cockles.  Small, edible bivalve mollusks, similar to clams.

 

10.  Shuttlecock.  The object that is struck back and forth in badminton.
