Scammers Are Calling! The Disturbing New Racket Hitting Lawton Residents

Let’s face it, nobody likes getting those mysterious phone calls that throw you into a panic. Lawton residents are dealing with a particularly nasty phone scam that’s making people believe their loved ones are in crisis. Imagine getting a call claiming a family member is in an accident or worse—abducted! These con artists are pretending to be medical personnel, demanding money to help, while they’ve got your brain spiraling in a panic.

The Lawton Police Department is stepping in with some solid advice: hang up and don’t share any personal or financial information with these criminals. Seriously, though—who thought scamming would stoop this low? The police are encouraging everyone to report any suspicious calls to them, and for good reason. Awareness is your best defense against the shark-infested waters of phone scams.

As we brave the digital age, it’s hard to believe we’re still facing these bizarre old-school tricks. What’s next, love letters asking for donations? But on a serious note, it’s all about protecting our families in this crazy world. So, what will you do if you get that call claiming a loved one needs help?

With the right mindset and just a little caution, we can outsmart these scam artists. Remember, if the voice on the other end is pushing your buttons too hard, it’s probably time to cut the line.
