Hayley Williams Adds Ed Sheeran's Departed Support Acts to Pre-Show Playlist

Hayley Williams didn’t post a statement, give an interview, or write a long caption. She just pressed play. Before her September 16 show at Forest Hills Stadium, the Paramore frontwoman queued up music from Macklemore, Lukas Graham, FINNEAS, Rowe and Beoga, the exact lineup of artists who walked away from Ed Sheeran’s Loop tour. It was a quiet move that said plenty, especially since she’d already poked fun at Sheeran’s statement on social media.

For those catching up: Macklemore was dropped from the tour after a “free Palestine” speech at Gillette Stadium. His fellow support acts and Sheeran’s backing band all exited in solidarity, and the numbers since then have been dramatic. Sheeran has lost over 200,000 Instagram followers while Macklemore has gained more than 1.6 million. On top of that, Macklemore donated $1 million of his tour earnings to Palestinians, and Gillette Stadium owner Robert Kraft matched it with $2 million.

Sheeran has said he is “not complicit” in the situation and described the conflict as a “tragedy,” but the fallout keeps growing. What started as one speech has turned into a full-blown conversation about free speech, solidarity, and what neutrality actually costs in 2026. Where do you land on all this?
