Elgin residents have long known the routine: need a checkup, lab work, or imaging, and you’re likely heading into Lawton for it. That’s about to change. Memorial Health System of Southwest Oklahoma has announced plans for an 11,000-square-foot medical complex in Elgin, expected to open in late 2027.

 

The facility will bring together primary care, urgent care, laboratory services, behavioral health, diagnostic imaging, and pharmacy services under one roof. For families in Elgin and the rural communities surrounding it, that means fewer long drives and faster access to care, whether it’s a sick kid on a Saturday morning or a routine blood draw.

The project has the backing of the City of Elgin and the Elgin Community Development Authority. Sean McAvoy with Memorial Health System calls it a continued commitment to quality healthcare for the area, and Elgin Mayor JJ Francais says the clinic will be “the full package” for the community. A groundbreaking ceremony is planned, with details expected soon.
