Kristi Noem filed for divorce from her husband Bryon Noem on Monday, September 28, in Hamlin County, South Dakota, citing irreconcilable differences. The filing ends a marriage that started in May 1992 and produced three children and grandchildren.

The divorce caps a turbulent year for the couple. Earlier in 2026, the Daily Mail published photos reportedly showing Bryon wearing fake breasts and claims he paid to speak with models in the bimbofication scene. A spokesperson for Kristi said at the time she was “devastated” and that the family was blindsided. The same month, President Donald Trump removed her as Homeland Security secretary and reassigned her to a special envoy role. In July, her mother, Corinne Arnold, said Kristi had told the family she planned to divorce.

Bryon has not publicly commented on the reports, and the family has asked for privacy and prayers. With a 34-year marriage, three kids, and a very public year behind them, this story is far from settled.
